Hager Heights Drive Inn in Hager City

Thought I'd try it this year April 2019 The chicken was so small 3" for a leg. Pathetic. I think you would get more meat off a ground squirrel. Will not be back. They still take the cheap route and still do not accept cards. Not even worthy of 1 star.

Sunday drive, Sunday meal ordered almost everything on the menu; Chicken, shrimp, onion rings, and mushrooms. Everything excellent! Got there just as a line was being formed. It went quickly.

Excellent! The chicken is crisp and yet juicy! The deep fried mushrooms are the best I have ever had. The beans are my favorite, they taste like Busch! I will be back!

Good price on legit broasted, or pressure-fried chicken. It's definitely a drive-in worth stopping at during its open season. Take a day trip along the Great River Road in western Wisconsin and enjoy the chicken.

Awesomeness!! Never bad food, orders always right, never have to wait long!! Whatever your doing dont stop! We love you!! Not to mention your potatoe salad OMG the best, had it for my sons grad party 2 yrs ago. It isn't spring till you guys are open I stop as often as I can.

Great mom and pop type drive in, great service, and great food

Imagine you're going to your grandma's for Sunday dinner. You've been looking forward to a delicious home-cooked meal. The mashed potatoes are covered in savory gravy. The coleslaw creamy. The chicken is fresh and crispy. Plus there's toast and baked beans. What more could you ask for? Nothing. And you get all that for only $6.29. If you're going near Hager City, you should definitely stop here. There's outdoor picnic tables and on a sunny day, it doesn't get any better. Even on a rainy day, the meal is absolutely worth it.

Such great chicken, and very reasonable!

I will absolutely be back. Chicken, fries, beans, and even the toast was great. We got deep fried mushrooms and cheese curds as well. Not too impressed with those. They were a little on the basic side. All in all the hour and twenty minute drive was 100% worth it. It was on par with the best chicken I've ever had. Will definitely be back to try the fish and potato salad.

Food is great. If I had one complaint, it is the fact they don't take credit/debit cards. They have an ATM on site though.

The 4 top pieces of chicken were fine then the rest of the bucket was nasty burnt tasting the grease was bad waited 15 minutes for chicken that my dog wouldn't even eat.Have heard good things about the chicken but my first time was a waste of time and money!

Awesome food, and friendly fast service even when busy. Chicken sandwich and mashed potatoes are best around, and the kiddos love the donut shaped nuggets. Highly recommend!

Very nice place. Got a bucket of their Broasted Chicken with fries. It was some of the best chicken I've had in a long time. It was hot and fresh. Service was very good and friendly. The atmosphere, the outdoor seating, the beautiful summer day, just made it for a fantastic stop for lunch. Definitely will be going back again.

I have waited & waited for Hager Heights Drive in to open. Well they are & I couldn't be happier. Lines may be long but it just shows how much people care about the Drive In. The staff are so friendly, it's like family & the food, it's tradition! It's picnics next to a creek, it's family getting together to enjoy a bucket of chicken & more. The BEST place for Broasted chicken....often drive down from the cities and enjoy the surroundings.......

Been there many times over the years still the best place to get chicken. I got the 2 piece chicken dinner with coleslaw beans fries and toast. Another good way to go is get a bucket of chicken. I personally like the cheese curds

Very busy during lunchtime for first time visit. Chicken was moist & tasty, but suffered not being temperature hot. Fries lacked salt, also not hot. Beans were hot & delicious, and coleslaw very good. Enjoyed cheese curds as well. Perhaps off day, would try them again given how popular they are.

Love there service always pleasant and there chicken, root beer floats and ice cream also mash potatoes and gravy are wonderful!

Best place for fried chicken in the Goodhue county Pierce county area usually a long line but worth the wait.

Today was our first time stopping in after driving by this highly rated and always busy drive-in for over 25 years.This is one of the few places that you can get a vanilla/chocolate twist cone and it didn't disappoint. We ordered some chicken while we were there and were a little disappointed in that it was just deep fried chicken. It was nicely breaded and crispy but a little greasy. The breading didn't have a lot of seasoning. We didn't order any sides so I can't comment on them.It was fun stopping somewhere new, that was obviously a gathering spot and seeing all the people. But I'd order something different next time and not have such high expectations.

Excellent chicken! Stopped in for a bite after smelling the chicken almost a mile away. The prices were very reasonable, and we only had to wait a few minutes to get our food. The chicken had very good flavor, as did the beans and coleslaw. They also have the crinkle cut fries I like. I will definitely be stopping again when I am in the area.Don't forget to save room for ice cream!

Absolutely love this place! Friendly staff worth the wait if busy. Food is great! A cone to a shake 100% tasty. Never had a bad time from sitting and enjoying a game and eating or taking it to go! Wish they opened earlier pineapple shake sounds amazing at 10am

Great chicken, worth the wait and the pricing is fair. Never had a bad experience here but would be a little happier if they also offered chicken tenders for a boneless option. We usually get the cheese curds and/or fried mushrooms as a side and they're always fantastic! Never received anything cold that wasn't supposed to be! I'd suggest calling ahead if you don't want to wait although their phone lines can be hard to get through on. Cash only!

Get the broasted chicken. My husband and I enjoy going on date days and happened upon this drive-in while on the road. I love trying broasted chicken and was not disappointed. The portions were generous. I recommend getting the mashed potatoes and gravy over the french fries. The restroom was clean too. The gentleman at the window was friendly. Good place and good eats.

Was good but they need to get bigger chickens. Seriously the thigh was like just a couple of bites.

Juicy broasted chicken with all the deep-fried sides. Fries cheese curds deep fried mushrooms. Wash it down with a root beer float and you're good to go
